Actress, singer, composer, GINA LA PIANA, the triple threat with a twist of latin spice, showcases her many skills as she not only appears in movies, but also scores for them. With her unique skills and distinct ear for music, her talent has garnered her wonderful opportunities such as composing major soundtracks for Marvel Comics owner Avi Arad’s production company. Most recently she has worked with him in scoring for both upcoming films, TEKKEN and ROBOSAPIEN: REBOOTED. She has also scored for the soundtrack of upcoming film, OPPOSITE DAY, in which she stars as well with a supporting lead role. Gina will also be appearing as “Gloria” in BLACK WIDOW, and as “Sophia in GIRLS GONE DEAD.

Gina’s film credits also include the role of “Theresa” in MEET DAVE with Eddie Murphy, KNOCKOUT, playing “Sandra Lopez”, and JERRY MAGUIRE, where she played Tom Cruise’s former girlfriend. Gina also starred in ALI G INDAHOUSE opposite Sacha Baron Cohen, which was actually his first Working Title Films’ release before BORAT.

Along with her roles in films, Gina’s credentials also include guest roles on television such as CBS’s “Everybody Hates Chris”, “Criminal Minds”, “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” the original “Beverly Hills 90210”, and her recurring role as “Gabby Ortiz” on the daytime series, “Days of our Lives”.  While appearing on Aaron Sorkin’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip”, Gina had the wonderful opportunity of acting opposite Matthew Perry and performing two of her original songs, “I Don’t Want to Start Over” and “Fly Away”, which she scored for show. Gina’s first television role was in the television series, “Boogie Diner” where she played “Juliana”, and she also starred as the “Latin Lucy” in the FOX pilot, “I Love Lupe”, the latin version of “I Love Lucy”.

The talented actress and musician started her career in the entertainment industry as she was signed a major label deal with SONY in an all girl group called “Carmen Jones”. She later signed with Columbia Records to be in another all-girl group called, “Movida”. After building her music career and maturing as an artist, Gina was signed as a solo artist through MCA with Randy Jackson. Since, Gina has also accomplished writing and singing for Disney, including the end title song for CINDERALLA: Part Two, “Dreams Do Come True”.  Gina has a self titled album out on ‘iTunes’ at the moment as well.  You can sample it at http://cdbaby.com/cd/ginalapiana.

Gina is originally from Brooklyn, New York, but was raised primarily in Corona, California by her father. From the time she could walk, she was already a “little performer”. Her father, a brilliant guitarist and vocalist, raised Gina on a strict diet of The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Journey and other legendary bands. With the heart of a performer, Gina decided to pursue acting, being inspired by “I Love Lucy” and Lucille Ball, whom became her childhood obsession growing up. Gina also received a scholarship to attend the esteemed American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Gina graduated from the three-year conservatory school, where she studied classical theater, film, and television acting.

Gina currently resides in Los Angeles, California, where she continuously pursues her goals of combining her two favorite passions; acting and music.
